Performance Testing

Logo of ResolveX Performance Physiotherapy with a glowing golden X.

ResolveX uses VALD performance testing to provide objective information about strength, asymmetry and physical capacity.

The goal is not to replace clinical assessment.

The goal is to support better rehabilitation decisions, clearer progress tracking and more confident return-to-performance planning.

WHY OBJECTIVE TESTING MATTERS

WHAT VALD TESTING ADDS TO REHABILITATION

WHAT IS VALD PERFORMANCE TESTING?

Too much rehabilitation still relies on assumption.

Pain can improve while strength remains reduced.

Movement can appear normal while important deficits remain.

Athletes can feel ready to return to training while physical capacity remains below the demands of their sport.

Objective testing helps reduce uncertainty.

By measuring physical qualities directly, clinicians and patients can make decisions using information rather than assumption.

WHAT VALD TESTING ADDS TO REHABILITATION

WHAT IS VALD PERFORMANCE TESTING?

ResolveX uses the VALD ForceFrame system to assess strength and force production across a range of positions relevant to rehabilitation and performance.

The system allows objective measurement of:

  • Maximum force production
  • Side-to-side strength differences
  • Limb symmetry
  • Force deficits following injury
  • Rehabilitation progress over time
  • Physical readiness for return to training and sport

Rather than relying solely on observation, strength can be measured directly and tracked over time.

WHAT VALD TESTING ADDS TO REHABILITATION

Objective testing is not a replacement for physiotherapy.

It is an additional layer of information.

Testing may help identify:

  • Strength deficits that remain after pain has improved
  • Side-to-side differences following injury or surgery
  • Areas that require further rehabilitation
  • Progress that may not be obvious through symptoms alone
  • Readiness to increase training loads
  • Readiness to return to sport or competition

This allows rehabilitation decisions to be supported by measurable information rather than assumption alone.

WHO BENEFITS FROM OBJECTIVE TESTING?

WHO BENEFITS FROM OBJECTIVE TESTING?

WHAT VALD TESTING ADDS TO REHABILITATION

Objective testing can be valuable for:

Athletes

Understanding physical readiness before returning to training or competition.

Strength Athletes

Identifying strength deficits, asymmetry and performance limitations.

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation Patients

Monitoring recovery and rebuilding confidence following surgery.

Active Adults

Understanding physical capacity and progress during rehabilitation.

Combat Sports Athletes

Assessing force production and physical readiness before returning to full training.

WHY RESOLVEX USES VALD

WHO BENEFITS FROM OBJECTIVE TESTING?

THE GOAL IS BETTER DECISIONS

At ResolveX, testing is not performed for novelty.

It is used when objective information may improve clinical decision-making.

The purpose is simple:

To provide a clearer picture of what is happening, what has improved and what still needs attention.

That information helps guide rehabilitation, loading decisions and return-to-performance planning.

THE GOAL IS BETTER DECISIONS

WHO BENEFITS FROM OBJECTIVE TESTING?

THE GOAL IS BETTER DECISIONS

The value of objective testing is not the numbers themselves.

The value lies in what those numbers help us understand.

Better information supports better decisions.

Better decisions support better rehabilitation.

Better rehabilitation supports a more confident return to meaningful physical activity.

STANDALONE PERFORMANCE TESTING

Objective testing is available as both a standalone service and as part of ongoing physiotherapy rehabilitation.

Some people attend specifically to better understand their physical strengths, asymmetries and performance limitations.

Others use testing to establish a baseline before beginning a training block, monitor progress over time, assess recovery following injury or surgery, or obtain objective information to guide programming decisions.

Following testing, clients receive a detailed report of the testing results.

Testing may be valuable for:

  • Strength athletes
  • Combat sports athletes
  • Runners
  • Field sport athletes
  • Active adults
  • Coaches seeking objective information about their athletes

You do not need to be an existing physiotherapy patient to book performance testing.

TEST. MEASURE. UNDERSTAND.

• Is one side weaker?
• Has strength actually improved?
• Are deficits still present?
• Is return to training justified?
